About Me
Originally from Estonia, Jaanika started her piano studies from a very young age when she joined a music school in Estonia from just 7 years old. After graduating in 2001 from the music school, Jaanika joined the Choral Conducting and Classical & Jazz singing course for a year at Georg Ots Music School. After deciding to relocate to the United Kingdom, Jaanika enrolled to do her Bachelors in Contemporary Music and continue with her MA in Music Management and Promotion at the University of Northumbria.
In 2013, Jaanika joined the Leonardo Da Vinci Graduate programme in Prague shortly after graduating, where she also worked with the Baroque Orchestra Management called Collegium 1704.
My Approach
Jaanika has been working as a private piano teacher since 2010 with students of all ages and experience levels. The lessons are always creative and student led, fun and motivating to ensure that students are able to work to their full potential.
With experience in Further and Higher education as a lead teacher and lesson observer, Jaanika is very knowledgeable on how to stretch and challenge pupils but at the same time, how to make piano lessons fun and creative no matter the age.
Thanks to her solid foundation in classical music as well as music theory, Jaanika can easily work on the theoretical, technical and structural elements of any chosen piano pieces, observing and analysing to assist her students to better understand the background of each piece they are playing.
Students
We offer lessons in preparation for GCSE and A level Music, as well as ABRSM and Trinity College graded exams in both piano and music theory. We have a 100% pass rate with many students progressing to Young Musician Programme at Glasshouse Gateshead, join the bands as well as start their own piano teaching at schools or privately.
